Laboratory Systems Analyst/Programmer II/III

 
Job Summary
 
Receive and process electronic assay data from a variety of laboratories. The incumbent will create, install, and maintain tools used to process these data for use in study analyses.
 
Scope of Responsibilities
 

  1. Act as a liaison between the SCHARP study teams and the external labs.
  2. Develop an understanding of laboratory procedures for relevant assays, and work with laboratories to develop systems to receive assay results in a timely manner.
  3. Work with the SCHARP study team in the development of study CRFs.
  4. Work with the SCHARP statisticians and labs to define file specifications for data transfer, and necessary edit checks.
  5. Develop tools for use by the lab in order to provide SCHARP with data in a standard format. These tools may involve the use of Visual Basic for Access, Word or Excel, and Java or Perl. It may also involve creating upload tools on our Web Portal.
  6. Create programs to resolve discrepancies between protocol expectations, case report form data and electronic assay data.
  7. Develop SAS programs to transfer assay results to SAS datasets for analysis by SCHARP statisticians
  8. Create standard and study-specific reports on status of lab data receipt, processing and discrepancy resolution.
  9. Maintain version control on production programs and scripts.

Design and support quality assurance procedures, standard operating procedures, and work practice guidelines and support documentation of those efforts. Follow SCHARP software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices and processes.
